Bob Lowry serves as creator and executive producer of the Sony Pictures Television original drama series HUFF, for Showtime.

Lowry began his journey into television when he graduated with a degree in acting from the University of Illinois in the early seventies. From there he joined the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and later went on to be a member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. Looking to break out as an actor, Lowry moved to New York in the early eighties. He appeared as a recurring character in both

“As The World Turns” and “The Guiding Light” and also performed in various off- Broadway productions and regional theater.

Clearly not achieving the Paul Newman status hoped for, Lowry landed a job writing corporate comedy and industrials. Eventually becoming vice president of the company, Lowry worked primarily as a speechwriter for various fortune 500 companies.

Always wanting to write for television, he sold his house, quit his great job and moved across the country at the age of 43 with no work in sight. Five years later he landed his first writing gig on NBC’s law enforcement series “Profiler.” After a three-year stint with “Profiler,” Lowry moved on to become co-executive producer of Lifetime’s critically acclaimed series “Any Day Now,” which lasted four seasons and stared Annie Potts and Lorraine Toussaint.

!HUFF is Lowry’s first project as creator and executive producer.
