CATERINA SCORSONE
(as “Jess Mastriani”)
Caterina Scorsone stars as 21-year-old Jess Mastriani, who, because of a freak accident, has developed the psychic ability to locate missing persons through cryptic clues she sees in her dreams.
While many children grow up wanting to be an actor, Scorsone’s early career aspirations included neonatologist, violinist and nun. A friend once suggested the only way she could be all three was to become an actor, so Scorsone stuck with it. She has been a professional actor since the age of 8 when she was a regular on the daytime children’s program, “Mr. Dress-Up,” for Canada’s CBC.
She previously worked with Executive Producers Glenn Davis & William Laurin on three of their series: “Shock Treatment,” “Once a Thief” and “Power Play,” for which she was nominated for a Gemini Award, the Canadian equivalent of the Emmy, for “Best Actress, Supporting Role in a Drama Series.”
Scorsone’s television movies include “My Horrible Year!,” directed by Eric Stoltz; “Common Ground”; “The Mitchell Brothers Project,” directed by Emilio Estevez; “The Devil’s Arithmetic”; and “Rescuers: Stories of Courage.”
Her feature film credits include “The Third Miracle” with Ed Harris, “Borderline Normal” and “Strike!”
Born October 16 in her hometown of Toronto, Scorsone is the middle child in a family of five siblings that include two older twin sisters and a younger brother and sister. She got her first taste of acting in the living room where her older sister would play director and all the other kids were in the cast.
She attended Cardinal Carter’s Academy for the Arts studying visual arts before switching over to drama. She went on to study at the University of Toronto, working toward an Arts and Sciences degree. Her studies are currently on hold while she is in production with “MISSING.”
