Mark Consuelos

(as “Antonio Cortez”)

Known widely in fan circles for his daytime and primetime dramatic roles (“All My Children,” “American Family”), Mark Consuelos brings a multi-dimensional, depth and range to the logic-driven character of Evidence Specialist Antonio Cortez in “MISSING.”

Born in Spain and reared in the United States, Consuelos brings a worldly, self-assured confidence to his characters—particularly in his role on ABC’s “All My Children.” Playing the romantic but often tormented Mateo Santos on “AMC,” that is where Consuelos met his real-life wife, actress/TV talk show host Kelly Ripa, whom he was paired with on-screen as well as off. Mark and Kelly, the latter of whom co-hosts the syndicated talk show “Live with Regis and Kelly” and stars in the ABC sitcom “Hope & Faith,” got married in 1997 and have had three children together.

Consuelos achieved widespread recognition for his role on “All My Children,” winning three Soap Opera Digest Awards (1996, 1998, 2000) and two Latino-themed ALMA Awards (1998, 1999) in various acting-oriented categories. He was also nominated for a Daytime Emmyâ Award as an Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002, the final year of his 8-year stint on “All My Children.”

Consuelos’ exposure and rising star brought him a featured guest starring parts in NBC’s “Third Watch,” PBS’s critically acclaimed “American Family” and NBC’s “Friends.” He also landed a part in the romantic comedy “Beautiful Girl,” a telefilm for ABC.

In addition to co-starring on “MISSING” this season, Consuelos will be seen in NBC’s upcoming telefilm “The Legend of Butch & Sundance” and in the Miramax motion picture release of the World War II-themed POW rescue drama, “The Great Raid.”

Born in Zaragoza, Spain, Consuelos grew up in Lebanon, Illinois, and Tampa, Florida, Consuelos attended Bloomingdale High School in Illinois and Notre Dame University, before receiving a degree in marketing from the University of Florida in 1994.

Returning to Illinois after college, the handsome Latino got the acting bug, getting a part in the local theater version of “Hello, Dolly” at the Looking Glass Playhouse. From there, Consuelos got guest shots in such TV shows as “SeaQuest DSV” and “Fortune Hunter.”

Consuelos has also continued his penchant for live theater, starring in the off-Broadway productions of “Boy’s Life,” “Orphans” and “One Shot, One Kill.”

Mark resides in New York City with Kelly and their children, Michael, Lola and Joaquin.
