James McCaffrey

James McCaffrey stars as Jimmy Keefe, the ghost of Tommy Gavin's dead cousin who died on 9/11, on RESCUE ME, the new one-hour drama from Sony Pictures Television.

A native of Albany, New York, McCaffrey attended the University of New Haven where he studied Fine Arts. He began his acting career in Boston, opening to rave reviews as Orestes in the controversial stage production of "Electra: A Central American Tragedy" at the Mobius Theatre.

Upon moving to New York City, McCaffrey became a proud member of The Actors Studio, studying and working in several productions. He also started his own theatre company: The Workhouse Theatre, which produced such Off-Broadway hits as "The Scape," "The Florentine," "Lovers & Madmen," "In Ten Cities" and "Gross Points" with Alec Baldwin.

McCaffrey's television credits include the lead in NBC's "Viper" and "Swift Justice" for Dick Wolf Productions. He has made guest appearances in "Civil Wars," "New York Undercover," "Law And Order: SVU," "Law And Order: Criminal Intent" and "Hack." He also starred in two movies of the week, "Telling Secrets" and "Switched At Birth" with Rosanna Arquette.

His notable film roles include "The Truth About Cats And Dogs" opposite Uma Thurman, "Hotel Shanghi," "The Tic Code," "Distress" and the 2003 success "American Splendor."

Most recently, McCaffrey finished shooting Spike Lee's "She Hate Me."
